We write a lot about technology that involves a lot of frills and buttons, but sometimes something comes along that checks all the boxes without all the fuss. During the winter months, particularly in the northernmost US States and Canada, it is imperative to have winter gloves that stand up to the cold climate, feel comfortable to wear and let you stay functional. Heat Holders the makers of various thermal outerwear have introduced a line of winter gloves, here is our first look at Heat Holders Gloves.

The Heat Holder Gloves feature Heat Holders ® Heat Weaver technology. This technology is based on a Japanese-designed, cashmere-like acrylic yarn that provides insulation and moisture management. This technology is similar to Thinsulate® material commonly found in winter clothing articles from other manufacturers and is a synthetic fibre (polyester and acrylic fabrics).

Holder Gloves are well made to withstand day-to-day outdoor use and will keep you warm during your morning walk to work and taking a leisurely stroll through the park. The inner layer adds extra protection from the cold air, and while it wouldn’t be suitable for the most extreme conditions, these gloves are our pick for a reason: the price is right, and they are great for everyday use.

When we reviewed other similar gloves, we found that many were better suited for more extreme conditions or were too light to provide something other than light wind sheer resistance. The Heat Holder® Gloves kept us warm the entire time we used them. While they didn’t give us the same protection with wet snow or rain, we still think they’re a great buy. If you’re looking for protection and a little added functionality, you may want to try the “touch screen” version of the same gloves which at the time of publishing are actually two dollars cheaper at the expense of looks.

These gloves made our 2021 Holiday Gift Guide because they were stylish, had soft plush interiors and were ridiculously warm. Given the price, we think that these would make great gifts for anyone on your list. Heat Holders offers several different sizes and designs for everyone and according to their desired warmth.
