Two of Canada’s cell carriers have launched their Boxing week deals early this year and have gone live with major discounts on phones and plans.
Freedom Mobile for its part is offering “Bring Your Own” phone plans starting at as low as $35 dollars a month for 6GB of data. Plans from Freedom range between $35 dollars a month and $45 dollars a month with the later including 20GB of data. While these plans might not be a permanent reduction (they’re offering $10/mo off select plans for 12 months), they’re something to look at.
In addition to their discounts on rate plans, Freedom is also offering some good deals on hardware too. On a two year term, you can get a Samsung Galaxy S20 5G for $60/month with 20GB of data or $50/month for 12GB of data with the LG Velvet 5G. There are other hardware deals from Freedom, check them out here.
Telus Mobility is also offering some boxing week deals. Their Peace Of Mind connect plans, that include unlimited mobile data and allow you to connect all of your devices with 20GB of data is being offered for $85 dollars a month for a limited time. This is one of our go-to-plans because having one plan for all of your connected devices can be difficult to find.
If you’re in the market looking for a new iPhone XS Max, iPhone 12 Pro max or Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G you’re in luck. Telus is offering between $750 – $852 dollars off the costs of these devices on a 2-year plan with bring-it-back and zero upfront. Telus is also offering the Samsung S20 Ultra 5G for $1,415 dollars off with buy it back too.
As far as connected devices go, the sale also includes bonus gifts from Telus for customers who are purchasing the LG Velvet 5G or the Moto Razr. With the purchase of a Moto Razr, customers get $601 off the total cost of the device and get a moto 360 included for a total of $1000 off. Customers looking for a deal on the Velvet get LG Tone earbuds included for free with eligible purchases. You can get more information and see the entire details of their offerings here.
We have not heard any announcements from the other major carriers regarding their boxing day deals or rate plans. This year we’re expecting deals to focus on online purchases or online transactions given the restrictions being placed on bricks and mortar retail.
Conditions apply for all the offers made by the carriers, and the time to obtain the offers may be limited. Contact the carriers for information and to determine your eligibility.
