Xplornet Communications, one of Canada’s largest rural-broadband providers, has expanded its rural internet access to more areas of Ontario, Quebec, Alberta and Nova Scotia. According to the company blog post, the company has been working to further expand its offerings to underserved areas.
Fixed wired internet service providers, provide customers who live in rural areas (who cannot access traditional wire-line broadband) access to broadband other companies might not provide. Xplornet’s wireless broadband service uses microwave link and LTE technology to interconnect a system of towers to the customers’ homes and the broader internet. Xplornet offers speeds using their LTE-wireless network of up to 50mbps (10mbps upload) and has packages that do include unlimited data. See here.
Each new tower we build means more rural Canadians in remote areas of the country can get connected to high-speed Internet. When we upgrade it means we’ve added new technology so that Xplornet’s family of subscribers have access to more bandwidth and higher speeds.
