Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2024, more AI and more devices

At the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event, Samsung announced a variety of new AI features and devices coming to its 2024 mobile line up. The company, broadcasting live on YouTube, debuted new devices like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, the Samsung Galaxy ZFlip6, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra.

Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra will be available for pre-order in select markets starting July 10, with general availability starting July 24.

Samsung Galaxy Ring

The Samsung Galaxy Ring uses the company’s sensor technology in it’s smallest form. The device is lightweight (weighing in at 2.3 to 3 grams) and features a concave design. The device provides the ability to use Samsung’s Health app to collect sleep, health and heart/respiratory data in the companies smallest form factor.

The device is stated to launch in three colour choices, Titanium Black, Titanium Silver and Titanium Gold along with multiple sizing options. The ring is locatable using the Find my Ring / Samsung Find.

Galaxy Ring will be available for pre-order in the U.S. from July 10, with general availability starting July 24. Pricing starts at $399.99 USD. Samsung didn’t provide any pricing or availability information on the product in Canada or other countries.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6

Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are the latest iterations of the fold and flip devices in Samsung’s global device lineup.

The devices both feature a variety of Ai enhancements to the on-board software with new features like Notes Assist in Samsung Notes and a full integration of the latest version of Google Gemini.

The Galaxy Z Fold6 and the Galaxy Z Flip6 series are available for pre-order in Amazon stores, Best Buy, Samsung.com, and with carriers nationwide, with general availability starting July 24.

Galaxy Z Fold6 starts at $1,899.99USD and is available in Silver Shadow, Pink, and Navy, while Galaxy Z Flip6 starts at $1,099.99 USD and is available in Silver Shadow, Yellow, Blue, and Mint color options.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Family

The Galaxy Watch 7 family includes many AI improvements that feature enhanced algorithms for better sleep monitoring, sleep apnea detection, and a new bioactive sensor. These AI improvements are further enhanced with a new 3 nm processor and dual-frequency GPS.

The Galaxy Watch 7 will be available in two sizes, 40mm and 44mm. The Galaxy Watch 7 40mm is available in green and cream, while the Galaxy Watch 7 44mm is available in green and silver.

Available for pre-order in the U.S. now with general availability starting July 24, the Galaxy Watch 7 pricing starts at $299.99.

Galaxy Watch Ultra

A new addition to the Galaxy line-up is the Watch Ultra device. Featuring longer battery life, increased brightness, enhanced durability, and 10ATM water resistance, the new device is a more premium smartwatch. The new watch is also powered by the most recent WearOS 5 operating system.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra is available in a 47mm size in Titanium Gray, Titanium White, and Titanium Silver. The Galaxy Watch Ultra will retail for $649.99.
