FAQ
How do you make money?
We are entirely funded through the generosity of you our readers and on a limited basis the advertisers that serve ads on the platforms we operate. Of note, we do not accept payments directly from advertisers/brands. See our Brand Partnership section for more information or contact us for more information.
How do you choose the products and services you review?
Our review process is built on two core principles: fairness and rigor. The products and services we evaluate come from two sources: those we purchase ourselves, and samples provided to us by the companies. We maintain strict control over this process. When we accept a sample from a brand, we require it to be a standard, commercially available product—the exact same one you would purchase off the shelf. To further ensure this, we frequently buy the same items from retail channels and conduct our own internal checks to confirm that our company-provided samples and our purchased samples are completely identical. This meticulous process ensures our reviews are accurate, unbiased, and genuinely helpful.
How can i get my product or service reviewed?
We welcome submissions for product and service reviews to be featured on our platforms. Our standard editorial reviews are conducted at no charge; the only cost is providing the product sample for our team to evaluate. While we strive to accommodate all timeline requests, please submit your proposal via our contact form, and a member of our team will be in touch to discuss the next steps.
How do you Promote Transparency?
We are proud to be a member of the Content Authenticity Initiative. This group collaborates with a wide set of representatives from software, publishing, and social media companies, human rights organizations, and academic researchers to develop content attribution standards and tools. Further, we are constantly evolving our editorial standards and encourage you to provide feedback on any questions/concerns.
How are you non-profit if you have advertising?
Like most modern businesses, we rely heavily on advertising to support our operations. We use the revenues that we collect from advertising to support our operations and grants provided by generous supporters. Our ownership model reflects that our operations should be entirely self-sustaining and not pay distributions to shareholders.

We are a proud member of the Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI). The CAI is a diverse group of organizations—from tech and media companies to human rights and academic institutions—collaborating to build a more trustworthy digital ecosystem through content attribution standards.
